Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 also known as California Proposition 65 requires businesses to provide warnings to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. The acts list a set of chemicals which comes under the regulatory watch prop65. The act also requires businesses to explicitly label their products with a standard warning message. Non compliance to such regulation will impose hefty penalties to the respective company.
